Goodbye Coachwerks, hello 19a!
We’re happy to announce that 19a is now independently owned, after 15 years of being with the Werks Group. Thanks so much for all your support! We’ll be continuing our ethos of community and creativity – watch this space!
Check out the piece of the history and future of 19a in this article from The Brightonian, April 2023:
Our Makers
19a is first and foremost a workshop, with an eclectic range of businesses, artists and creatives using the space. There’s fine artists, woodworkers, musicians, photographers, artists working with clay and stone, and many more. Below are a few examples of our work.
For more information on us all and how to connect, take a look at our Artists and Makers page.
Where to find us
19a Hollingdean Terrace, Brighton BN1 7HB
Tucked into the corner of Hollingdean Terrace is an old industrial building, formerly a coach garage. 19a was established as a combined arts and studio space in 2008 alongside the Werks Group, and is now an independent organisation with over 20 art studios and maker spaces. The volunteer-run shop, Hollingbury Wholefoods is open most days and our gallery shows local and national artists each month.
